Sri Lankans are ready to celebrate their 59th Independence Day on 4th February 2007, in much more pride than previous years. During the past year we were able to capture many valuable military victories against LTTE.
These days many rehearsals take place in Colombo as preparations for the 4th February. From my window, 13th floor, West Tower, WTC - could witness many of those. This area is heavily guarded and some roads are closed – also, army soldiers are placed on top of all the high-risers in the surrounding area.
