Sri Lanka set for the FINAL

A busy day for all Sri Lankans.

Everyone get ready for the night – make sure they have some snacks – drinks to enjoy the match. Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksha is already in Barbados to witness the final and encourage the players.

It’s around 2.30 in the afternoon SL time by this writing and the much waited world cup final to be started in another 4.5 hours time.

Yesterday, Mahela & Malinga joined a music programme telecasted by National TV, from Barbados, over the phone. Many artists, cricketers & politicians were invited to the show. They all were there to share their wish, with the entire country. The message passed was – we, the entire country, are behind Mahela and the team.

The Saturday usual morning programme telecasted by National TV was again dedicated for the well-wishers to the cricket team. Well-known artists & cricketers joined the show. Also, the National TV continuously displays wishes sent in SMS by millions of cricket lovers.

Around 12.30 PM Channel Eye started telecasting the highlights of the 1996 world cup final. That happened exactly 11 years, 1 month and 11 days back and today we are to repeat the history.

People of different religions have already started their prayers – parents of national team cricketers participate in those.

I’ve spoken to few Indians and they too believe Sri Lanka can win. So, why not we? Memory Bank passes its sincere wishes to Mahela & the team to win the world cup. Even they fail – still – they are our heroes.

This is simple Maths, if two teams are playing, there is a 50% probability for each team to win the game. Result of the game does not depend on who beleive or not.

You didn't get your math right..:)

There is a possiblity of a tie as well.... so the probability is 1/3.
